Coffee With Dad - An RSC Flimsy, Another WIP from Grandma's Red Needle

As the title says; Coffee with Dad is a Flimsy!

Viola at Familie Barwitzki challenged me to work on my UFO #26, since 26 is her birthday. Now that Swirling Stars is on hold, waiting (forever! due to shipping error from the online shop!) for ordered quilting thread, I accepted the challenge.

In my previous post I mentioned I had too many blocks for one quilt.

That is absolutely not true! I don't know where my head was, or better say brain (it must have melted in the heat these days!), when I figured out I need 36 coffee ...

RSC Coffee with Dad - WIP from Grandma's Red Needle

Now that 'Swirling Stars' (RSC UFO #11) is near completion (waiting for ordered thread), I continue working on my UFOs and WIPs.

I accomplished a lot in January, thanks to all the rainy days. What's better stay inside and sew?!

Catching Up on RSC July / August / September continues from Grandma's Red Needle

It has been a lot of catch up on RSC (Rainbow Scrap Challenge) over the last couple of weeks. I have made a lot of blocks and I'm happy to say I'm all caught up (almost*!) on RSC 2025! Sewing table is cleared for squares and fabrics (for RSC), ready for something new (coming soon).

*There will be two more blocks from Sherry McConnell's BOM, that's it for this year.

RSC Week #18 - GREEN for May from Grandma's Red Needle

Happy May!

It's the first Saturday in May and new RSC color (Rainbow Scrap Challenge)

Angela at SuperScrappy has chosen GREEN as the color for May.

I spent last weekend catching up on red by making

one half circle

and one quarter circle for 'Eclipse'. Here I have used red and green.

The pattern (layout) is still a bit confusing, but I should not bother or overthink about that at this point! I'll make the blocks and 'worry' about the layout when the time comes! lol

RSC Week 9 - March is Yellow from Grandma's Red Needle

HAPPY MARCH!

It's the first Saturday in March and many of us are ready for RSC (Rainbow Scrap Challenge) show and tell. Angela at SuperScrappy has chosen YELLOW for spring!

I prefer doing the RSC blocks at the beginning of each month, after Angela has chosen the color. When they are done, I'm 'free' to do whatever.

My goal this year is to finish some UFOs, so let's see how that works out his month.

RSC Week 5 - February is BLUE and a Squirrel popped In from Grandma's Red Needle

Where did January go?!

February; it means a new RSC (Rainbow Scrap Color). Angela at SuperScrappy has chosen BLUE for this month.

Three blue cups are made.

I'll make maybe two or three more.

I didn't expect the squirrel to visit! It was good in a way, I needed a short break from quilting ten place mats for a customer.

RSC 2025 Week 4 - January is PINK from Grandma's Red Needle

A new year is here (already end of January!) and so is RSC (Rainbow Scrap Challenge) hosted by Angela at Superscrappy.

I've been participating in RSC since 2023 and now I'm running out of some colors. PINK is one of them. In 2023, I had approximately 13 yards, + already cut squares in different sizes. Arreli's quilt was made the same year, using pink front and back, all from my stash. Pink blocks were made as well as some items for my Etsy Shop. You can see them all here.
